Urban Expansion & Historic Premises

During the 1970s, Ditta Bernini expanded under the stewardship of Valter Barbieri and Augusta Capitani, establishing its primary headquarters at Direzionale 70 under the name Unicopia Bernini, while transferring its historic city center branch to Via Trivellari as Eliofoto Bernini. Subsequently, this print center relocated to its current address in Via Badia, steps from the Cathedral (Duomo), with an additional location in Via Canalino, adjacent to the university law faculty.

PRINTING ARCHIVE • A CENTURY OF INNOVATION

Craftsmanship & Technological Revolution

Throughout these decades of continuous operation, we have mastered every printing technique and production methodology: from Cyanography and Bromide Contact Printing to Heliography, which remains in service today.

In the 1970s, photostatic reproduction was adopted alongside Offset Printing, black-and-white photomechanical film reproduction, and Xerography.

With the dawn of color reproduction, we were the first and only studio in Modena to produce prints with Cibachrome, an autopositive color photographic printing process rendered in four-color process (CMYK) on photographic paper. In the 1990s, digital technology took center stage with Laser Printing, followed by Inkjet Printing in CMYK and subsequently six-color process (hexachrome). Most recently, we employ state-of-the-art Piezoelectric Technology across four- and six-color channels.
